Omusubi
Omusubi is Japanese for rice ball but with a very special meaning. When written as お結び the 結 means to make a connection, which I hope to achieve with this box.
Japanese style trick opening puzzle box with storage bag, certificate of authenticity and solution envelope in nested envelopes with hints.
Woods Used: Maple, Black Limba and Poplar
Size: 4¼” x 4½” x 2¼”

A Rice By Any Other Name
"Formed in the shape of the classic Japanese snack, it’s an homage to Hakone and the godfathers of puzzle boxes, the Karakuri Creation Group. Jason shared his story: “I have always enjoyed building things since I was a kid. I used to work with my dad on projects around the house and create art projects with my mom. As I got older I started working with tools more, building furniture, making lamps, decorative boxes and other little gifts for family and friends."
